The Putra Mosque is the principal mosque of Putrajaya Wilaya, Malaysia.

Completed in 1997, the Putra Mosque can host more than 10,000 worshippers at a time.

It is located next to the Perdana Putra, which houses the Malaysian Prime Minister’s office and man-made Putrajaya Lake.

In front of the mosque is a large square with flagpoles flying Malaysian states’ flags.

The pink-domed Putra Mosque is constructed with rose-tinted granite and consists of three main functional areas – the prayer hall, the Sahn, or courtyard, and various learning facilities and function rooms.

The mosque can accommodate 15,000 worshippers at any one time

Underground there is an Madrasa where they teach Quran.

Know This

If you’re male, wear long pants. While ladies, would need to wear the robes, which they provide for free.

I recommend walking on the bridge to take some photos from a distance. It can get quite hot, but it’s worth it.

One thing you need to be careful is the opening hours especially on Friday, it only open from 4pm-5pm, 5:30-6pm
