Coordinates: 32.705269, 35.299358

The Holy Caves are at the center of ancient Nazareth. They were built over centuries by Jews and early Christians trying to escape Roman persecution. It is said that once 40 people were discovered and martyred because of their faith.

These caves are said to have been the venue of one of the first place of Hz. Isa عليه اسلا.

Used as an underground city, yet to be excavated, this is the place where it is said that Bibi Maryam رضي الله عنها resided when she was conceived with Hz. Isa عليه اسلام. One would imagine their home was made out of woods and stand on the top of the ground but it wasn’t so.

Their home was a cave like structure for some time. The earthquakes and the geological changes may have caused the home to be several feet lower than what it is today.
