Saint Andrew رضي الله عنه, was the disciple of Hz. Isa عليه اسلام according to the New Testament.

He is the brother of Hz. Sam’un رضي الله عنه (Saint Peter).

Relics of the Saint are kept at the Basilica of Saint Andrew in Patras, Greece and many other cathederal in other parts of world.

The church was built over the site upon which, it is said, he had been crucified in 66 AD.

This Church is considered largest in Greece and fourth largest in the balkans.

Saint Andrew رضي الله عنه is said to have been martyred by crucifixion at the city of Patras in Achaea, in AD 60.

Relics of the Saint are kept at the Basilica of Saint Andrew in Patras, Greece and many other cathederal in other parts of world.

There are also numerous smaller reliquaries throughout the world.

Saint Andrew’s رضي الله عنه remains were preserved at Patras.

According to one legend, Saint Regulus (Rule), a monk at Patras, was advised in a dream to hide some of the bones.

In Islam

The Qur’anic account of the disciples of Hz. Isa عليه اسلام does not include their names, numbers, or any detailed accounts of their lives.

Muslim Scholars, however, more or less agrees with the New Testament list and says that the disciples included Hz. Sam’un رضي الله عنه (Saint Peter), Saint Philip رضي الله عنه, Saint Thomas رضي الله عنه, Saint Bartholomew رضي الله عنه, Saint Matthew رضي الله عنه, Saint Andrew رضي الله عنه, Saint James رضي الله عنه, Saint Jude رضي الله عنه, Saint John رضي الله عنه and Saint Simon the Zealot رضي الله عنه
