The Church of San Nicolás is a Catholic parish church in central Madrid, Spain.
It is currently one of the oldest churches in Madrid.
Archaeological remains suggest that the church and its bell-tower may have been part of a former mosque.
It was likely constructed during the 12th century. The nave and chapels were renovated in the 17th century.
Few archaeologist believe 12th century bell tower was an old minaret.
