The Theodosius Cistern is one of many ancient cisterns of Constantinople that lie beneath the city of Istanbul, Turkey. The modern entrance is in Piyer Loti Caddesi, Fatih.

Being 100 years older than Hagia Sophia, this cistern hosts an installation, adding to the beauty of the construction.

This cistern is one of the best works that show how water civilization was developed in these lands before the Byzantium and Ottoman periods and how it was protected and enriched as technically and architecturally by the Ottoman Empire.
