Al-Madinah Museum is a museum that exhibits Al-Madina heritage and history featuring different archaeological collections, visual galleries and rare images that related to Al-Medinah.
The building it self is an iconic and historic building that was built by the Ottomans to be the last station of the famous hijaz railway.
Its history and everyone should come and visit the history, especially the Ottoman Empire contribution in the development of Medina.
Museum
The museum exhibits around 2,000 rare artifacts that capture the heritage and culture of Al-Madinah and document the landscape, the people and how it has been shaped over the years.
One of the most interesting parts of the tour is the evolution of Masjid Nabawi from a house, courtyard, and home to the massive complex that it is now.
In 1983, a project was launched to transform Al-Hejaz Railway Station that was established in 1908, into a museum called Al-Medinah Museum, the project also included the establishment of Hejaz Railway Museum in the site.

Know This
This Museum is located very near to Masjid-e-Nabawi. You may even travel by walking from Haram. Is a wounderful place which shows you the lot of knowledge about Medinah and Islamic history.
Take an Uber here if you want to avoid being scammed by the local taxi drivers or want to avoid haggling. It will cost you around 15 Riyals one way.
It’s better to follow a guide lead group with understandable language. The garden at back has separate entrance and an entry ticket.
Outside the museum entrance is an artist calligrapher, a fine art in the islamic world. He does some great work and will write any name onto a framed board as a souvenir.
