1) A People that Allah loves
On the authority of Hz. Iyad al-Ashari رضي الله عنه who said, ‘When this Ayah was revealed:
“O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion – Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He loves and they love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favour of Allah; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and all-Knowing.”
(Al-Quran, 5:54)
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ pointed at Hz. Abu Musa al Ashari رضي الله عنه with something, which was was with him and said,
“They are the people of this [Yemeni companion]”

In another version of this Hadith also recorded by Hz. Imam al-Hakim رضي الله عنه in al-Mustadrak, the Prophet ﷺ said to the same companion,
“They are your people O Abu Musa رضي الله عنه”
2) Faith is Yemeni, Fiqh is Yemeni, Hikmah is Yemeni
On the authority of Hz. Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه who said, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“The people of Yemen have come they have the most tender hearts. Faith (Iman) is Yemeni, understanding (Fiqh) is Yemeni and wisdom (Hikmah) is Yemeni”

On the authority of Hz. Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه that the Prophet ﷺ said,
“The people of Yemen have come to you, and they have the softest and gentlest hearts. Understanding (Fiqh) is Yemeni and wisdom (Hikmah) is Yemeni.”

3) They Have the Softest Hearts
On the authority of Hz. Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه who said, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“The people of Yemen have the gentlest minds and softest hearts.”
[Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal]
4) More sensitive Hearts to Islam
On the authority of Hz. Anas bin Malik رضي الله عنه who said, The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“Some people will come to you tomorrow who are more sensitive (in their) hearts towards Islam than you.”
He said, ‘Then the ‘Ash‘aris (Yemeni tribe) came and Abu Musa al-Asharis رضي الله عنه was amongst them. Then when they were approaching Madinah tayyaba they began singing poetry,
‘Tomorrow we meet the beloved ones, Muhammad ﷺ and his group’
Then when they arrived, they began to shake hands with the people, and they were the first to initiate handshaking.

5) Most Readily Obedient
On the authority of Hz. Uqbah ibn ‘Amir رضي الله عنه who said, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“The people of Yemen have the most delicate hearts, softest minds and are most readily obedient.”
[Musnad Ahmad bin Hanbal]
6) The Best of the People are Yemeni and The Prophet ﷺ is Yemeni
On the authority of Hz. ‘Amr ibn ‘Abasah رضي الله عنه who said, ‘Whilst the Messenger of Allah was showing some horses and with him was ‘Uyainah ibn Hisn ibn Hudhaifah ibn Badr al-Fazari رضي الله عنه and he said to ‘Uyainah رضي الله عنه,
“I am more discerning of horses than you.”
Hz. Uyainah رضي الله عنه then said, ‘I am more discerning of men than you.’ He ﷺ said,
“So how is that?”
He said, ‘The best of men are the ones who place their swords upon their shoulders and they lay their spears upon the woven saddles of their horses, they are from the people of Najd.’
He ﷺ said,
“You are mistaken. The best of men are the men of Yemen, belief is Yemeni, and I am Yemeni. The most numerous tribes in Paradise on the Day of Resurrection are the Madhhij. The Hadhramaut are better than Banu al-Harith and I care not if both the two (Harith) tribes perish to the last one! There is no power nor kingdom except that of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He. Allah curses the four kings: Jamada, Mishrakha, Mikhwasa, and Abda‘ah as well as their sister al-‘Amarradah.

7) The Best People of Earth
On the authority of Hz. Jubair ibn Mut’im رضي الله عنه who said, ‘We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a road between Makkah and Madinah and he ﷺ said,
“The people of Yemen are on the verge of ascending upon you as if they are clouds. They are the best (people) on Earth.”
Then a man from the Ansar (the Helpers from Madinah) said, ‘Aren’t we O Messenger of Allah ﷺ ?’ Then he ﷺ was silent.
He said, ‘Aren’t we O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’ Then he ﷺ was silent.
He said, ‘Aren’t we O Messenger of Allah ﷺ?’
Then He ﷺ said on the third time in a low sound,
“Except you”

8) They are very keen to study the Sunnah and Islam
On the authority of Hz. Anas رضي الله عنه that the people of Yemen came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, ‘Send with us a man who will teach us the Sunnah and Islam. Whereupon he (the narrator) said, ‘He (the Prophet ﷺ) took hold of the hand of Abu ‘Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah رضي الله عنه and said,
“This is the trustworthy one of this nation (Ummah)”
[Sahih Muslim]
He is one of the Ten Companions given glad tidings that they are guaranteed Paradise, as mentioned in the following Hadith:
On the authority of Hz. Abdur-Rahman ibn ‘Awf رضي الله عنه who said, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, ‘Umar رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, ‘Uthman رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, ‘Ali رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, Talhah رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, Az-Zubair رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, ‘Abdur-Ra^m¥n ibn ‘Awf رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, Sa‘d [ibn Abi Waqq¥s رضي الله عنه is in Paradise, Sa‘id رضي الله عنه is in Paradise and Abu ‘Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah رضي الله عنه is in Paradise.”

9) “You will look down upon Your Deeds in comparison to Theirs”
On the authority of Hz. Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri رضي الله عنه who said, ‘The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“Indeed, a people will soon come, and you will look down on your deeds when compared to their deeds.”
We said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, are they the Quraish?’ He ﷺ said
“No, but they are the people of Yemen.”

10) “Do not curse Them”
On the authority of Hz. Abu Thawr al-Fahmi رضي الله عنه who said,
‘We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ one day and some Yemeni cloth was brought. Then Hz. Abu Sufyan رضي الله عنه said, ‘May Allah curse this cloth and curse the one who made it!
Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
“Do not curse them for indeed they are from me and I am from them.”
