Nazareth, Israel Occupied Palestine
Coordinates: 32.706100, 35.301300
Also knows as Mary’s Well, it is reputed to be located at the site where, according to the Catholic tradition, Hz. Jibrael عليه اسلام appeared to Bibi Maryam رضي الله عنها, mother of Hz. Isa عليه اسلام and announced that she would bear a son – an event which is knows as Annunciation as christian tradition.
The well was positioned over an underground spring that served for centuries as a local watering hole for the Palestinian villagers.
Renovated twice, once in 1967 and once in 2000, the current structure is a symbolic representation of the structure that was once in use.
It is believed by the scholars that the little village being fed by the main freshwater spring, it would have been visited daily by Bibi Maryam رضي الله عنها often accompanied by her young son Hz. Isa عليه اسلام
Although the traditions comes from the christians source, the spring is well revered by both Muslims and Christians here.
Recent excavations (1997-98) discovered a series of underground water systems and suggested that the site today known as Mary’s Well served as Nazareth’s main water supply from as early as Byzantine times.

Allah the Exalted revealed:
“And mention in the Book (the Qur’an, O Muhammad, the story of) Mary, when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing east. She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them; then We sent to her Our Ruh (angel Gabriel), and he appeared before her in the form of a man in all respects. She said: “Verily! I seek refuge with the Most Beneficent (Allah) from you, if you do fear Allah.” The angel said: “I am only a Messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you the gift of a righteous son.” She said: “How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor am I unchaste?” He said: “So (it will be), your Lord said: “That is easy for Me (Allah): and (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter (already) decreed, (by Allah).
