Shajarat Al Ghareeb is an ancient tree, which is located 50 km from the city center.
Shajarat Al Ghareeb, which is likewise called by voyagers as the Mother of Trees, is located in Al-Samsara, Taiz. Also known as “Al-Ghareeb tree” and “Al kolhama” tree, it has strange characteristics. It is characterized by its big trunk, its 32-meter-wide area, and its large leaves, as well as its age, which coincides with the period of the Gregorian calendar, in addition to the diseases it can cure. Many Yemenis visit the tree to enjoy its attractive look that blows every beholder’s mind for at least a moment. Several Yemenis also resort to it for allergy and hair loss treatments according to the beliefs of many of them.
The extent of the tree is enormous. The administration has set an entryway on the territory with the goal that individuals can’t touch it. With respect to the age, it is accepted to be 2,000 or more years old.
