Masjid al-Imam Ali ibn Talib is located in front of the door 7 of the Masjid al-Nabawi mosque.
Many traditions of Hz. Ali عليه اسلام and Hz. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ are related to this mosque.
It is said that this mosque is located at the site where the Prophet ﷺ is reported to have performed Eid Salah.
It is also said that the house of Hz. Ali عليه اسلام was here and he used to pray here.
It is also said that this is where the Prophet ﷺ came to welcome Hz. Ali عليه اسلام after returning from a battle.
This mosque is close to Abu Bakr as-Siddique Mosque and Al-Ghamamah Mosque.
Permanently closed
This is a small historical masjid rebuild few years back by Saudi Government, located near today’s Salam Gate.
However it is looking neglected as there’s a lack of maintenance. Prayer is not allowed as it is permanently closed, which shows rigidness of Saudi mind.
