Church of Saint Peter in Gallicantu is a Roman Catholic church located on the eastern slope of Mount Zion, just outside the Old (walled) City of Jerusalem.

It is said that (in christian sources) Hz. Sam’un رضي الله عنه denial Hz. Isa عليه اسلام three times and than immediately he repented with bitter remorse and very tearful.

After the incident he reconciled with Hz. Isa عليه اسلام and he forgave him.

It is said that (in christians texts) Hz. Isa عليه اسلام prophesized about Hz. Sam’un رضي الله عنه (Saint Peter) that he would deny him 3 times “before the cock crows”. Galli-cantu means cockcrow in Latin.

Dungeon

Under the church there is a dungeon, according to christians, which is believed to be the place where Hz. Isa عليه اسلام was put in jail on the night following his arrest.

However this is not true because Islamic view of death and suffering of Hz. Isa عليه اسلام is totally different as compared to christians.
