A wealthy member of the Banu Sahm clan of the important tribe of Quraysh, Hz. Amr ibn al As رضي الله عنه accepted Islam in 629–630 and was Sent to Oman, in southeastern Arabia, by Hz. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, he successfully completed his first mission by converting its rulers to Islam
