Also knows as Saint James the Less, He is Saint James, son of Alphaeus رضي الله عنه, one of the Twelve disciples of Hz. Isa عليه اسلام.

Santi Dodici Apostoli (Church of the Twelve Holy disciples), commonly known simply as Santi Apostoli, is a 6th-century Roman Catholic parish and titular church and minor basilica in Rome, Italy, dedicated originally to St. James and St. Philip, whose remains are kept here.

The Church is a lesser basilica of Rome. Nonetheless, the church has great historical significance.

The church was dedicated to the disciples Saint James the Less رضي الله عنه and Saint Philip رضي الله عنه, two of the Twelve disciples of Hz. Isa عليه اسلام.

Some historians believe that the remains of Saint James رضي الله عنه and Saint Philip رضي الله عنه are buried within the crypt below this church.

Widely, Saint James رضي الله عنه is also believed to be buried in the Cathedral of St. James in Jerusalem or the Church of the Holy disciples in Rome.

Saint Philip رضي الله عنه is buried in the Church of the Holy disciples in Rome or possibly Hierapolis, near Denizli, Turkey.

Regardless, assuming that Santi Apostoli is their final resting place, makes visiting this church an excellent experience for christians.

One point to note is that Saint James the Less رضي الله عنه is not to be confused with Saint James the Great رضي الله عنه
