According to Islamic scholars, he is different from Hz. Shuaib عليه السلام of Midian. According to Al-Hamdani, he was sent to the people of Mikhlaf Hadhur, but they killed him, and Allah سبحانه و تعالى‎ sent BakhtNasr, who destroyed their town. Locals believe that his tomb is on the mountain. The mountain is also called Jabal Hadhur because it is located in the region of Mikhlaf Hadhur.

Bombing a Prophet’s Tomb and Mosque in 2016

The destruction of the old mosque of Hz. Shoaib عليه السلام in Yemen due to the bombing of Saudi led coalition. This mosque was believed to be over 1,100 years old.

Local sources, as quoted by the website The Link Yemen, reported that Saudi planes deliberately bombed the mosque along the mountain of the Prophet Shu’aib عليه السلام, destroying the mosque building.

The source also said Yemeni clerics condemned the Saudi aggression targeting archaeological mosques and other historic structures, reflecting the apparent failure of the war the Saudi kingdom is waging against the impoverished Middle East.

Apart from that, it also said the targeting of mosques and historical sites would be included in a series of crimes of Saudi aggression, which disregard mosques, historical places, palaces, forts, and others, which do not take into account the sanctity and historical values.
