The Mosque of Umar ibn al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) is considered to be one of the places where the Prophet ﷺ prayed during the Battle of the Trench (Ghazwah al-Khandaq, also known as Ghazwah al-Ahzab, or the Battle of the Confederates).

This mosque was named after Hz. Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه because it is where his tent was at the time of the battle of Trench.

Narration

It is said that the Prophet ﷺ visited Hz. Umar ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه at the time of the invasion and prayed in his tent, where this mosque was later erected.

Location

It is located 10 meters south of Abu Bakr As-Siddiq Mosque (رضي الله عنه). This mosque is situated on higher altitude, and its look is corresponding to Al-Fath Mosque, thus it is considered that they were built and renovated at the same time.

The mosque needs more attention and restoration.
